I think my voice is back! I'm so excited, I'm posting this on a whim: a polyphonous demo of my newest song Alien Flower. It's been too long since I shared a new recording with you. For the past 4 years, I have been having voice problems due to a car accident, and although I continued to perform, it has been hard. Sometimes I wanted to quit, but I had great people around to support and inspire me, and things are looking up. The past few days, my low notes are back and singing feels great! It is the first time my voice is truly feeling back to normal. I made this tonight in my bedroom. It will only be online for the next 3 days. It is not perfect, but if I wait to show you something perfect, I will never show you anything. Mistakes are part of the process, and I want to let you see that. Besides, I think it's fun. I hope you do too.
I'm getting so close to finishing the illustrated songbook for my song "Walking Lightly". Above is a draft of one of the spreads I've been working on to give you taste of what's coming. The entire book layout and compositions are done! Now, I'm adding details and spiffing up the typography. This book has expanded a lot during production. I was planning on 48 pages, but it's close to 70 now. I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you. My plan is to release the book with a CD or digital download of the song.
